That is awesome! Here is why...

Max has been a patient in the Ophthalmology Department at Boston Children's since he first donned specs at 8 months old. We have witnessed first-hand the incredible work of the dedicated staff, whether they are performing a routine acuity exam, or treating the most devastating ophthalmic diseases. No matter the situation, they work tirelessly to improve and, in some cases, save a child's vision. Watching children experience the world around them is an amazing thing. Helping the people who help them to SEE their world is the #1 goal of the Duxbury Dunk!

If you've already decided to participate, you're already a Seal in Specs! Max is honored to have you as his friend and teammate. You will boldly go where no bespectacled seal has gone before (though far too many real seals dip and dive all the time). Whether you tap-a-toe, dip-to-your-hip, dunk your entire trunk, or swim like a real seal, your participation is AWESOME!

What makes it RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME?!

A little bit of "match" math. Here' goes...

We're asking each seal to raise a minimum of $50. BUT, that $50 will immediately become $200! Say WHAAT?!! That's right! But how?? The Christ Family Fund will match your $50, and then the Ophthalmology Foundation is going to match the combined $100. Ahhh...making a little more sense now. Applying that same fun math, if the Seals in Specs team is able to raise $10,000, the total gift reaches an amazing $40,000!!! AND beyond that, the Ophthalmology Foundation will continue to match each dollar up to $1,000,000--that would bring an amazing $2,000,000 to the department! (Dare to dream BIG, anyone?!! ;-))

Thank you so much! Have we mentioned you're AWESOME?! We can't wait to dunk and party with you and your families on May 1!

Happy fundraising, Seals!

All our love, Max & Family
